My Experience at The Makeup Show Houston

This past weekend I had the chance to attend The Makeup Show in Houston, and it was everything I hoped for and more. As a makeup artist and beauty enthusiast, being surrounded by so much talent, artistry, and education felt like stepping into a creative playground.

One of the highlights—truly a career-defining moment—was meeting Danessa Myricks. She’s not only an artist I’ve admired for years, but also the founder of one of my favorite brands. Hearing her speak and then having a personal exchange with her was surreal. She even told me I should model, which was both humbling and empowering. It’s not every day that someone you look up to so much reflects back such encouragement. I remember when I first discovered her makeup line, truly made for artists I loved the multi use of her products. Working in sephora for all these years I was so excited as I watched her brand grow.
